What Is IV&V
INDEPENDENT, VERIFICATION & VALIDATION
INDEPENDENT – Independence means the IV&V provider is not beholden politically, managerially, financially to the development team whose activities are being evaluated. The IV&V provider is not part of the development team
VERIFICATION – is defined as the process of evaluating software at the end of the software development process to ensure compliance with software requirements
VALIDATION – is defined as the process of determining whether the products of a given phase of the software development cycle fulfil the requirements for that cycle established in the previous phase.

Our Scope:
We provide IV&V services in the following areas:
- Management Support Services. The goal is to identify inconsistencies, errors, or other issues that may present a risk to the program/project, providing management with an early identification of potential problems
- Engineering Support Services. These services include evaluation of the adequacy and completeness of individual technical/development products to ensure that their content conforms to applicable standards, contractual provisions, or other requirements.
- Test Support Services. These services include evaluation of test documentation such as plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure that their content conforms to applicable standards, contractual provisions, or other requirements. The evaluation would verify that the test documents correctly link to each other and correctly reflect the life cycle needs, security, performance, and other requirements based on the level of testing. Additionally, we may witness the actual testing performed.
- Technical Review and Audits Support Services. JTSi provides input concerning the adequacy of project artefacts or life cycle processes, in the form of reports or presentations, in support of technical reviews and audits.
Our Approach:
- Review all Project Artefacts – this would include all foundational project documents – RFPs/Scope document/Requirements document/Steering Committee status updates/Project Status documents/Project Plan/Communication Plan/Risk Management Plan/Test plans/Regulator Compliance etc.
- Conduct Stakeholder Interviews – Will help us understand and synthesize various view points on project progress and risks. Our interviews are always kept in utmost confidence to elicit honest views. This process will also help us refine our understanding of the problem
- Perform in-depth analysis – Based on our past experience and synthesized views of the stakeholders and our refined understanding of the issues, we will validate our findings and focus on identifying specific improvements that will make tangible difference to the project. We have a repeatable process that we deploy throughout the project lifecycle.
- Present findings to Executive team – Clearly and concisely articulate the key findings substantiated by crystalized and succinct facts and recommend remedial solutions. Our team’s expertise infuses confidence with the management team to take our recommendations seriously and implement our findings.
